It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Sybil Huntington (nee White).
Dorothy, loving wife of 47 years to the late Stanley Frank Huntington, parents of Maurice (Janis) and Nancy Wenger (Mathew), Grandmother of Blake, Brock, Rebecca Jenna, Dale, Keele, and Cole. Great Grandmother of Kingston and Boden. Sister of Jim White, Barbara Smith and the late Ted White.
Dorothy started work at the age of 14 to help support her family. She always prided herself in her dedication to her careers and honoured them with hard work like no other. Stan and Dorothy both born and raised in Toronto, loved the city but were delighted in the life, beauty and offerings of Huntsville, raised their children to appreciate both worlds. Retiring to their final home on Bella Lake in 1997.
Dorothy was a devoted family person, wonderful supporter of her husbands adventures and ambitions, and a grand boaster of her children and grandchildren.
Nana, as we called her, taught us of love, respect, strength and pride while being a private, humble individual.
We, along with all of the grandchildren and great grandchildren, other family members and friends will miss our Mom dearly.
Dorothy died peacefully with her family close by her side on the beautiful sun filled Muskoka afternoon of January 18, 2016, at the age of 82
We wish to thank all of the wonderful support and medical staff who worked caringly with us to guide Dorothy over her final years at Fairvern Nursing Home.
A Celebration of Life for Dorothy will be held on Sunday January 31, 2016 in Partners Hall (Algonquin Theatre)37 Main STreet East, Huntsville from 3-4:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made on Dorothy’s behalf to the Friends of Fairvern or Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Nancy and Family;
I have no words to express how sad I was to hear the passing of your Mom.
She was kind hearted, always had a smile on her face and enjoyed a good chat.
I will forever remember those wonderful talks, her beautiful smile, and her way of making you feel welcome.
