Frances Louise Midgley (nee Jacoby) passed away in the loving and compassionate care of Fairvern with her family at her side. Her passion was her children – Doug (Raine), Cheryl (Andrew), Leslie (Jeff aka Keeper) and her grandchildren, Matt, Ali, and Tullsi. Her love and devotion to her family showed no boundaries. While her passing has left a tremendous void in all of their lives, they are grateful for a lifetime of precious memories.
Fran had a huge heart and she was an immense lover of animals. Her home was never without the love of a furry friend and it seemed that every stray would inevitably find their way to her doorstop. Their unconditional love brought her great joy.
Fran loved Huntsville and the wonderful people that made it a community. She was a tireless volunteer and made many treasured friends along the way. Fran will be fondly missed by all that knew her.
In memory of Fran, a donation to the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre or Fairvern Nursing Home would be dearly appreciated and mean the world to her and her family.
Private family interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
Celebration of Life to take place on Saturday, March 19 from 1-4 pm at 14 Hart Court in Huntsville. We hope you come and join us.

Cheryl, thanks for letting me know about your sweet mother’s passing. She was a big part of my life when I lived in Canada. Her strength of character and courage in the face of adversities was remarkable. It’s so good that we were back in touch after so many years of absence and I’m grateful for the friendship we shared, in spite of the distance between us. Her generous and loving spirit will be missed.

Dear Cheryl, Leslie, Doug & familyI was so saddened to get your phone call Cheryl on the passing of your Mother. She suffered so much but is now at peace and so I hope that thought gives you comfort. Fran was my last remaining cousin and I remember many happy holidays our 2 families celebrated together as we were growing up. Bill, Joan and John add their condolences to mine and we pray for strength and comfort for all of you in the days ahead.

I met Fran 8 years ago when I took over the position of Great Beginnings Coordinator in Huntsville . She would just appear each week and help to set up our program room and from there she would sit down and rock our babies. ‘grama Fran’ was loved by the babies and parents. From there I’d see her walking , walking, walking around the neighbourhood picking up garbage and generally cleaning up as she got her exercise. I will miss seeing her smile and will always remember her love of our ‘babies.’ Thank you Fran for making a difference in my life.

Even when I just a young boy Fran would take the time to stop and chat. When I grew older and had kids of my own she would always take the time to ask about them and reminisce about my parents. She always made me feel like a friend and when I think of her a smile just automatically comes to my face. We will miss her.
