The death occurred on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Lakeridge Hospital, Oshawa of Gilbert Jacob Brown.
Beloved husband of the late Edna Brown. Dear father of Lawrence and the late Kerry. Grandfather of William and Heather. Brother of Lawrence Brown and predeceased by Hazel, Ila, Ruby, Gladys and Morgan.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Addison Chapel of the Mitchell Funeral Home on
Friday, December 28, 2012 at 1 p.m. Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gilbert attended our seniors group every Thursday where he developed some good friendships with others in the group. He was an active participant – once displaying his woodcarving on a “hobbies”” day and taking the one day bus trips. We remember Gilbert fondly – we know his struggle with cancer is now over and we commit his eternity to God who “”carved”” out Gilbert’s life.”

Thirteen years ago we met Gil, the stories he told, the appreciation of the birds and wildlife. Spending the time with our then young children teaching them while on nature walks in Trillium Trails….We are thankful and grateful for time we shared. A true gentleman. We will miss him dearly.
