I had the pleasure of having Mr. Trussler as a Latin teacher at Westdale Secondary School in Hamilton. He was a truly inspiring, kind, and knowledgable man. I remember his many creative ways of making the Latin language come alive. I remember little things like his green suit, his tartan lunch bag, and his geraniums. But most of all I remember a brilliant and dedicated teacher. My parents also thought highly of both Phyllis and Allan (they were the Truemans from Westdale). My thoughts and prayer are with you.Dawn Martens

I have just read Allan`s obituary in the Hamilton Spectator. Many years ago I taught with Phyllis and then sang with both Allan and Phyllis in Westdale United Chancel Choir.I also had the pleasure of spending a day with them at Ilfracombe. It was a joy to know both of them. The family I do not know but send them my sincere condolences in their loss.

Allan & Phyllis are fondly remembered by me and my daughter, Millie. From the beginning of our fellowship with All Saints Anglican church, both Allan & Phyllis were eager to develop sincere friendship, genuinely interested in us as people, shared their mutual love of music with us, and were always a source of encouragement. And Allan’s voice! I have been missing his wonderful resonance.Peace to the Trussler family as you grieve. Peace as you remember your loved parents, gradparents, family.
