    Ben,
Your mom was a special lady. We think of her often, particularly when we are next door in her old house, now the home of our grandchildren. I know she created a wonderful home for you there and it continues to be a place of welcome and laughter. She was a great neighbour and an inspiring teacher. I enjoyed working with her and remember with fondness the times she leaned out of her kitchen window to say, “What are you up to now, Curtis?” Our sincere condolences.

Not too long before the end, my wife, Faye wanted to see and say goodbye to Linda. Our son drove us, ….around the corner and there she was just after one of the famous Huntsville snowstorms. Black coat, dark glasses, and a snow shovel. Standing there shaking her fist and hollering at a half ton which had driven too close and sprayed snow up on her already shovelled section. Got to smile, good for you Linda.

Linda was a beloved colleague. We were young teachers at Burntwood School and young mothers. She was great fun to work with; passionate about her class, her subjects, her union work ad most of all about her beloved Ben. All these years later I still remember some adorable “Ben” stories! She will be missed but the lives that she touched ensure that her legacy goes on an on!

    Ben,
May you stay strong and be comforted in the coming days. I loved working with your mother at Burntwood School. Linda made me, and every one she met, feel special and included. Linda valued people and saw the value in everyone. She was so kind and so compassionate, I will never forget how she made me feel at home when I moved to Thompson to start my teaching career. She also had a terrific sense of humour about things. I know, Ben, that your mother touched many generations of Thompsonites, Grade 2 in particular. She is a dear friend and I am truly blessed to have have been touched by her in my life. May Our Lord always keep Her in His care.

I was sorry to learn about Linda. I have only known her for two years. She was a very kind, caring, warm and always helpful person. Her pleasant comments and laughter will be missed at exercise class.

    Dear Ben,
We are saddened to learn of your Mom’s passing. We reflect on her times with us back when you were little, mainly at the farm and in the early days in town. She would often come to visit laden with her students’ workbooks which she would be busy correcting. We know how much she loved being a teacher. We heard many stories of her students, told happily. I, personally, was impressed that she cooked Thanksgiving dinners for her “kids” in the North. Of course, Ben, we know of her love for you and her pride in your accomplishments. We hold you in our hearts at this sad time. Big hugs to you from Aunt Sharon, Sarah and Jennifer and Nick.
