Ms. Sandra Slatter Allard, age 64, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Huntsville, Ontario on January 18, 1947 the daughter of Philbert and Ida (Moulton) Slatter.
Sandra was a Registered Nurse and was employed by Borgess Medical Center for the past thirty years. She was an inspiration to everyone whose life she touched. To know her was to love her. Family and friends were the most important things in her life. Sandra enjoyed travelling (especially to the Casino with Evie). She had an amazing sense of humour, strong will, and was always willing to help others.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory, her loving partner and best friend, Evie Brawner of Kalamazoo, MI; one daughter, Cherie Allard (Troy Clark) of Gun Lake, MI; brother Bert (Betty) Slatter and sister Brenda (Don) Dunton; two nieces, Lisa (Mark) Slatter-Deziel and their children, Cassady, MyKenzie and Naethan of Huntsville ON; Stacey (Mike) Slatter-Trobacher and their children, Braden and Kali Trobacher of Sudbury ON; special cousins and friends and all their families, Ruth Foley of Port Credit ON, Margie Young of Lambeth ON, Rick Mora of Sacramento CA, and Dean and Sharon Hancock of Grand Bend ON.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of Sandy’s life at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the home of Sandy and Evie; 1153 N. 26th Street, Kalamazoo MI 49048
Interment of her ashes will take place at the Locks Cemetery in Huntsville ON at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Huntsville Animal Shelter.
