The death occurred very suddenly in her sleep on Monday, September 7, 2015 at her home on Lake of Bays.  Vicki Dodds beloved wife of Edward (Ted) Dodds after 46 years of marriage.  Dear mother of Matthew (Sarah), Andrew (Sarah), Jordan (Katie) and Tobin (Rebekkah).  Loving grandmother of Emaleigh, Kaeden, Tristan, Cameron, Elyse, Blare, Henry, Harris and Sawyer. Vicki will be sadly missed by many family and friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Vicki Dodds will be held at the MITCHELL FUNERALHOME, 15 High Street,Huntsville, ON P1H 1N9  on Thursday, September 10 from 2-4 & 6-8pm.  Prayers will be offered Thursday by the Father John Rathinaswamy at 7:00pm and the Rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 7:50pm.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 12 Centre Street, North, Huntsville on Friday, September 11th at 11a.m.  A reception will follow in the Church Hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Muskoka Mental Health and Addiction Centre or to your own Public Library Board

  15. i am so sorry for this terrible loss and this most tragic time for your family. of course i also knew vicki from the arts community – and she was a force therein. she painted for the en plein air event on numerous occasions and her art (as brilliant as she was), always brought in a good bid. she will be missed by so many – a reflection of the many lives she touched. all the very best to you in this most devastating time.

  18. Mr. Dodds and family, I am so very shocked and saddened to hear that Mrs. Vicki Dodds has passed from this life, yet I am so grateful for the times I had with her. As a former student of St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School, I had the honour of having some wonderful conversations with Vicki, and in more recent years, chatting with her after Mass. I am grateful to God for blessing us with Vicki and her dedication in working closely with our Catholic education and with her work outside of school, including literature and the arts.

  25. I have many kind and loving thoughts of having met Vicki Dodds. St Marys School in Huntsville at Book Fairs Vicki was always suggesting great books for my three children. They still have many of them today 28 years later. Vicki was a very kind person who seemed to know how to comfort those struggling during difficult times with just a touch of her hand.   34. I knew Vicki through volunteer work. First on the Dwight Friends of the Library and then HAS. She was such a giving person. Always willing to help. Always there with a smile.   38. I am so very sorry to learn of Vicki’s passing. I worked with her at the Queensville Public Library many years ago in the 80’s. We became good friends during our working relationship and then lost touch. How very sad to hear this news. She was a lovely lady. My sincere condolences to her entire family.

We had so many great times at Beverley and later Downsview and you were so very happy when you and Ted became a couple. We have not seen each other for years but spent many hours talking on the phone and I was glad to have been there for you in the tough times. You are a vibrant special person to so many.   40. I had the honor of meeting Vicki when I accompanie the residents of New Leaf to Vicki and Ted’s cottage/home on Lake of Bays on several “getaways””. Her empathy

  41. We were shocked and saddened to hear about Vicki. She recently attended a cousins reunion in Toronto. It was wonderful to see her and Ted and hear about their plans. It is a loss for all of us and we send our deepest sympathy to Ted, the four sons and their families. She will be missed.

She was an incredibly special person with a seemingly unlimited capacity to give, nurture, support, and encourage. We tackled many a project together and I can account that their successes would not have been accomplished without her. She has left a great impression on my life.
