Doug passed from this world to the next after a lifetime of martinis, laughter and time at the lake. He is survived by his wife, Janet, their two sons Winston, Jeffrey, and their families. Doug first visited Halliburton in the early 50’s from his home in Toronto. His love for the area starting with a cottage on Big Trout Island, on Lake Kawagama in 1965 to building a retirement home 1990. He imparted a love of lake, and all it could teach us, to his family and countless other visitors over the years. In retirement he was founder and supporter of the Community Policing Committee in Dorset, as he felt a duty to improve the life of all that visited and lived the area.
In respecting his final wishes, no funeral services will be held and in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Huntsville Hospital Foundation. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of the Huntsville hospital for their exemplary service.
